The premiere solo exhibition of You Look Like The Right Type—Ten Years of Daily Drawings, a daily conversation archive from New York City-based artist and Atlanta native Mark Addison Smith, opened at The Bakery on January 3, 2019 with support from the Research Foundation of The City University of New York (RF-CUNY). The exhibition was co-presented by Atlanta’s Eyedrum Art & Music Gallery and The Bakery Atlanta.
For more than ten years, Smith has illustrated overheard conversation-fragments every day and posts the drawings on social media—his own version of an analog Tweet. The Bakery Atlanta celebrated You Look Like The Right Type’s tenth anniversary by showcasing 350 drawings from the archive of more than 5,000.
An opening reception took place on Thursday, January 3, 7pm–10pm. An artist’s talk was given on Saturday, January 5, 4pm. The exhibition ran through January 31, 2019.
